Some ideas need more than another opinion.

Not every creative project arrives fully formed.
Sometimes there is a remarkable character but no story.
A world without a clear direction.
A premise that won’t leave you alone.
A collection of disconnected ideas that somehow feel as though they belong together.
Or simply the persistent feeling that there is something here — even if you can’t yet explain what it is.
ByJollyColostrum Collaborative Development is a space for exploring what an idea might become when more than one creative perspective is genuinely involved in its development.
What Could It Become?
Collaboration may explore:
- Story and concept development
- Character creation
- World-building
- Narrative direction
- Film, novel or episodic possibilities
- Adaptation between mediums
- Expansion of an existing concept
- New directions that weren’t apparent at the beginning
- Development of larger creative worlds
- The possibility that the original idea is only the beginning
There is no requirement that an idea arrive knowing exactly what it wants to be.
Discovering that is the point.
Collaboration Is Different
This isn’t consultation from the sidelines.
Where a collaborative project is accepted, BJC may become creatively involved in developing the work itself.
That means collaboration is undertaken selectively. There has to be genuine creative compatibility and something in the project that makes both parties want to discover where it can go.
It also means that before collaborative work begins, matters such as ownership, intellectual property, responsibilities and commercial participation will be agreed separately in writing.
Don’t Send the Story Yet
At the initial enquiry stage, please don’t send manuscripts, screenplays, treatments, detailed concepts or other unpublished creative material.
Tell us instead what you have and what you’re hoping to find.
For example:
I have a character and world I’ve been developing for years, but I’ve never found the story that belongs to them.
Or:
I have the basis of a film concept, but I think it could become something much larger with the right creative collaborator.
That’s enough to begin the conversation.
If there appears to be a genuine creative fit, confidentiality and the appropriate agreements can be established before detailed material is exchanged.
Some ideas arrive as stories.
Others have to be discovered.
